Part of ‘The Helix Project’, this 300-hectare regeneration project has transformed formerly disused land between Falkirk and Grangemouth, connecting 16 local communities via an extensive network of paths. The works were carried out under NEC 3 Option A Conditions and included earthworks, surfacing to shared-use visitor space and utilities infrastructure as well as the construction of a 200m diameter freshwater lagoon, water feature, canal paths, play space and plaza, along with feature landscaping/planting and facilities buildings. The project won the prestigious Saltire Society 2014 Civil Engineering Award.
