The works were for the widening of a 19th-Century road bridge over the River Eden in Cupar and included the removal of the existing jack arch extension and support, the removal, refurbishment and re-erection of a cast iron arch rib and stone parapets (newly constructed in a mixture of old and new stone), reforming of the carriageway and footways and replacement of existing lighting columns. As the river is prone to flooding, riverbank protection was also installed as part of the contract.

Principal Elements included:

Reinforced concrete arch bridge (15m span) 1 no.

Structural Backfilling 1,300m3

Structural Concrete 800m3

Reinforced concrete retaining wall 100lm

Natural stone tooled ashlar facing 36m3
