The project was for the construction of an enlarged flow balancing pond, the enlargement and improvement of a settlement pond, the installation of connecting pipework and manholes and the construction of a landscaping bund.
Principal Elements included:
Excavation of blaise/clay 9,900m3 / Fill of blaise/clay 4,500m3
Drainage 275m (the majority of which 900mm diameter)
Chain Link Security Fence 400m / 6F1 2,300T
FBA 3,000T / Geogrid 4,800m2
Key Issues:
- Monitoring of overpumping works to ensure drainage system operational
- Close liaison with operational activities at adjacent coal fired Longannet Generation Plant
