The purpose of the contract is to widen the existing single lane carriageway to double lane carriageway, implement service diversions, form new structures to roadline to facilitate widening of road and lay culverts and otter pipes across the road. The earthworks element involves cut and fill and import from a locally sourced borrow pit. Drainage includes carrier drains, filter drains, catchpits and road gullies. Services comprise of BT ducts and chambers, new water mains and diverted electric cables. Final works include kerbing, safety barriers, sub-base and surfacing to roadline along with white lining, signage and accommodation works for local residents.
