The Hatston Facility Terminal Building was constructed as part of the new Northern Isles Ferry Service linking Orkney & Shetland to the North of Scotland to facilitate passenger movements in accordance with new legislation.

 

 

Principal Elements included: Building Area 300 m2

 

 

Key Issues:

  • Building constructed on main pier site whilst main construction ongoing
  • Contractor achieved short contract period despite construction during Orkney winter weather
  • Onerous Electrical & Mechanical element for operation of Walkways and Linkspan
