This regeneration project involves the new build construction of a high specification 25m competition swimming pool, gym and library complex in the centre of Campbeltown. The building is a complex 3-storey concrete frame structure with curved external walls and with high specification exposed concrete finishes. The roof is a steel structure with Calzip aluminium system cladding. External finishes consist of a combination of large area glazed screens, brickwork and coloured sto render. The services included various energy and water saving measures.

 

Principal Elements included:

Building Footprint: 1600m2 Foundation: 260 nr 20m long reinforced concrete piles driven to dense estuary gravels
Substructure: 260 nr 20m long reinforced concrete piles driven to dense estuary gravels
Pool Structure: 25m x 13m reinforced concrete suspended pool structure on 1st floor, special waterproof concrete measures
Roof: 1600m² Calzip aluminium zipped seam roof on structural steel and glulam beam frame
